Invitation to Historic Meeting

The recent efforts by President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine give hope that this time, he will succeed in implementing his vision expressed during the first Presidential campaign 2016: “Unfortunately, after the Cold War, our foreign policy veered badly off course. We failed to develop a new vision for a new time. In fact, as time went on, our foreign policy began to make less and less sense. Logic was replaced with foolishness and arrogance, which led to one foreign policy disaster after another.” Trump also followed that “Getting along with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” the words that his opponents used to launch the “Russiagate” scandal that ruined his Presidency, steel 2020 elections, provoked the war in Ukraine and brought the world to the edge of the abyss.

Presently, history has given Trump and his team a second chance to Make America Great Again, the country that promotes peace and mutually beneficial cooperation with any nation that is ready and willing to join. Russia is one of these nations, and it was confirmed recently in Saudia Arabia during the meeting of top US and Russian foreign policy leaders. Earlier on April 25, 2020, Presidents Trump and Putin issued a joint statement on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the joint victory over NAZI Germany in WWII and the Elbe River reunion of the American and Soviet military.  The statement ended with the words: “Spirit of the Elbe” is an example of how our countries can put aside differences, build trust, and cooperate in pursuit of a greater cause.”

Wouldn’t it be great if both Presidents met again on April 25 Elbe Day, or May 9 V Day, at the place of their choice to seal the bonds of friendship and cooperation that existed not only during WWII but for many years, starting with the birth of the United States in 1776.
