The article I am responding to here states a frightening truth. The US has taken us to the very edge of the abyss. True, it could well be that President Putin has indeed anticipated that the west would see sense, but at the same time, the west expects Putin to back down on his nuclear threat.
This is poker at its most dangerous. This is the US at its most reckless. The additional concern being the UK’s willingness to do Washington’s dirty work regardless of the consequences.
The situation is rapidly approaching where the US is saying that if we can’t be in charge, we will make sure there is nothing left to be in charge of, whilst Russia tells us that without a Russia in the world, what is the point of a world!
The behaviour of Washington has, for decades, been downright verging on the criminal with their interventions, sponsored wars, theft of resources, imposition of illegal sanctions.… the list goes on. These are not the actions of an American people, but a government, run by elites, that are quite frankly out of control. They answer to no one. Mammon is king.
A major change of direction in Washington is a must if global catastrophe is to be avoided – but will 2024 be too late, and will the democratic process even be allowed to operate through the ballot box? A lot of difficult questions with too many unanswerables.
What the Ukraine flag might look like if it becomes a Russian republic
The one sure way to defuse this particular situation is to put an early end to hostilities by totally negating Ukraine’s military effort and taking down this puppet government in Kiev. Russia must ‘reclaim’ Ukraine – no puppet regime – no Nazi puppets – all Russian borders secured. NATO will have no mandate to act, much as now, however, the choice will be clear. The current situation is untenable.
When push comes to shove, Europe will not sacrifice itself for Washington when battle lines are drawn. And to think, not long-ago Russia was set to join NATO until Washington scuppered the arrangement.
Maybe even the western world might wake up before it’s too late, but after the Covid scheme was so easily foisted onto the populace without resistance, thanks in part to the coercion of the bought and paid for mainstream media, that is highly unlikely”.
The details of the peace deal presented today by US special envoy Steve Witkoff are consistent with the report in the Financial Times discussed in my previous article and with Larry Sparano in the posted interview. Putin will halt the Russian advance prior to driving Ukrainian soldiers out of all of the territory that has been reincorporated into Russia. It appears to be the case that the borders between Russia and Ukraine will be the current front line, so Putin is withdrawing Russia’s claim to the Russian territories still under Ukrainian occupation.
Russia and the US seem near a Ukraine peace deal. Kyiv’s role may be moot.
President Donald Trump’s hopes of securing a quick Ukraine peace deal hang in the balance after Washington’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, held his fourth Kremlin meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday.
