We All Know That Monopolies Kill Competitiveness, Creativity, and Originality

These guys must be bored out of their wits. No need to come up with anything original or nuanced or even half plausible, since alternative versions or explanations are immediately de-legitimized. What can be more simple: play up to paranoia, xenophobia, Russophobia and blame Russians for the most stupid things, and it will be fine. All the most idiotic accusations that even the worst of racists or antisemites would be ashamed to use, are shamelessly used when applied to Russians.

Look at the chorus of condemnation from liberal press of Russia sentencing Brittney Griner! Russia evil, Russia racist, Russia this, Russia that. All this coming from the same educated, smart, liberal NYT reading public, who knows damn well about racist US cops, about unfair judicial system, that puts plenty of innocent minorities in jails for nothing. How can they not know, when NPR informs them of that day in, day out? Yet, all this knowledge of thousands upon thousands of cases of unfair incarceration is forgotten, while one Russian case sends these liberals to paroxysms of anger. State Department and its propagandists do not even bother to argue their case, or point to some differences in circumstances, and so on. No, just mention Russia, and people would get angry and self-righteous about the things they do every day themselves.

Or another idiotic case. Russians have taken over the territory of nuclear station. Armed with American artillery, Ukrainians continue to shell Russians, wherever they are, including that very nuclear plant. Precarious and dangerous situation for anyone who observes it. Yet, the press peddles the idiotic story that it is Russians who are shelling themselves and the nuclear station where they are located, engendering not just everyone around, but all over Europe. And sure enough, that accusation is believed. Why? Because it is Russians. They do that sort of thing. I just can’t wait for the western press expressing their outrage at Russian autocracy and tyranny that engenders school mass shooting. Sure, only in Russia.

Back in the Soviet Union, I knew a fair amount of people working in “ideological sector” and drinking themselves to death. They were simply tired of lying. They were bored. They were discouraged. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that all these propagandists are constantly on drugs, or vodka, or Prozac, or whatever. Look at the wooden face and monotone voice of the head of State Department. To lie without blinking, being Blinken is not enough. You have to be on drugs. It is the drugs and alcohol that also explain the lack of imagination and sophistication. No need to come up with any “plausible” case. Just stick to Russians the first thing that comes to mind. It will do.

We’ve learn not to trust cops who shoot teenagers and then justify themselves by saying that they had guns. We learn not to take their words for granted. If they need to frame someone, they better work hard, and create a rather plausible and convincing case. But in case of Russians, there is no need. Just blame them Russians fart – -or how disgusting. Russian belch — oh, villainy. Russian pollute. Oh, ye, European heat wave is caused by Russian pollution and belching. Russians want to defend themselves -oh, how dare they violate the rules based order. And yes, the liberal educated public buys into that, while Blinkens of this world continue to be bored out of their wits and continue to take drugs in order to silence the remnants of their honor and integrity, which even people like Blinken or Zelensky must have.

And needless to say, this sloppy lying will have its comeuppance. Many people, as was the case in the Soviet Union– simply stopped believing what these guys are saying. Remember the boy who cried wolf, and it worked every time …
