Is Biden Trying to Start a War to Prevent Trump From Being Installed as President?

The title of this article is a question worth asking. The Biden administration’s decision giving permission to Ukraine to fire ATACMs into Russian territory, despite clear warnings from Putin that this would be considered as a US attack on Russia, raises the legitimate question, “What the hell are they trying to do?”

Unnamed Biden officials admitted to the New York Times earlier this week that the ATACMs would not alter the course of the war. In other words, it is a useless tactical measure. Ditto for strategic effect. The US does not have enough ATACMs in inventory to inflict significant damage on Russian military or economic infrastructure. So what is the purpose? Score a PR victory for Ukraine? Exonerate Biden of any claim that he did not do everything in his power to help Ukraine? Or, is it something darker and more nefarious?

Let’s go thru the timeline. Biden sent long-range ATACMS last April, i.e. seven months ago:

The US delivered long-range missiles to Ukraine earlier this month that the Biden administration had previously refused to send following a directive from President Joe Biden, the Pentagon said Wednesday.

Biden secretly approved the transfer of the long-range ATACMS missiles in February for use inside Ukrainian territory. The ATACMS missiles were then quietly included in the $300 million aid package announced on March 12 and ultimately delivered to Ukraine earlier this month, according to Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Garron Garn.

These missiles have a range of 190 miles. I have received conflicting reports on whether or not the longer-range ATACMs require US military intelligence in order to input targeting data. Regardless of the answer, the Russians insist that the use of this missile is viewed by them as a complicit US action.

Biden sent the first batch of shorter-range ATACMs (i.e., 100-mile range) in the fall of 2023:

Last fall, the US first sent Ukraine the mid-range variant of the ATACMS missile system, which can reach about 100 miles, while the longer-range version can reach as far as 190 miles.

Those missiles have been completely ineffective in the combat theater and Russia has repeatedly downed them with their air-defense systems. Seven months before the long-range version was deployed, the Ukrainians had the short-range missile and were unable to stop the Russian advance.

Let me suggest another explanation for the Biden volte face on the long-range version — Biden wants to provoke a war with Russia and create an emergency situation that would prevent Donald Trump’s inauguration. Farfetched? Maybe, but the Biden national security team is not known for making smart decisions or thinking strategically. There are officials in the Department of Defense and throughout the intelligence community who are terrified of Trump taking power. Their acts of subversion and treason over the past eight years will be exposed if Trump makes good on his promises to hold officials accountable for their criminal conduct. I think that provides a pretty solid motive for them trying to cook up an excuse to force the postponement of Trump’s inauguration.

The effort to provoke a war is not confined to the war in Ukraine. As I discussed in my previous piece regarding the alleged Iranian plot to assassinate Donald Trump — i.e, Has Trump Derailed a Deep State Plot to Attack Iran? — the circumstantial evidence points to a US intelligence operation to create a public narrative that Iran poses a threat and must be dealt with militarily.

The carnage Russia is inflicting on Ukrainian forces is staggering. The following video is illustrative –WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT:

That video is from just one small portion of the battlefield and it shows at least 12 Ukrainian KIA. It reinforces Russia’s claim that Ukraine is suffering at least 2,000 casualties per day. I reiterate a point I made yesterday about Russia’s new nuclear doctrine: Russia will respond forcefully to a critical threat. Over the course of the last 48 hours (i.e., Monday thru Tuesday), Ukraine has fired 18 ATACMs and achieved nothing of significance in terms of degrading Russian military capability. Ukraine reportedly only had 50 ATACMs to start with, which means it depleted 36% of its inventory without achieving any clear military objective.

Simplicius reached the same conclusion in his most recent post:

“Think about it this way, according to Zelensky and official Ukrainian government statistics, Russia has launched over 6000-7000 total missiles at Ukraine during the war thus far, and one can see Ukraine is still kicking. But Russia—vastly larger and more resourceful than Ukraine—is supposed to be battered by 50 ATACMS and 10 French missiles? Give me a break—it’s just fodder for the chuds. Ukraine will continue getting methodically deconstructed with no delay.”
