Now let’s us talk about gangs in relation to politics. I think the first use of the term “Gang of Four” was in China, referring to the most powerful members of a radical political elite convicted for implementing the harsh policies directed by Chinese Communist Party chairman Mao Zedong during the Cultural Revolution (1966–76). The group included Mao’s third wife, Jiang Qing, plus Wang Hongwen, Zhang Chunqiao, and Yao Wenyuan.
I believe another political “Gang of Four” also deserves to be known under that term: the communist theoreticians and practitioners Karl Marx, Fredrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, and Josef Stalin. During the Soviet days, banners featuring this group were prominently displayed in almost all cities and even villages across the huge territory of the USSR.
Somehow the term “Gang” transitioned into American political life as well, but here it grew to the “Gang of Eight” members of Congress: four members (the chair and ranking member, of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate Select Committees on Intelligence), plus the four bipartisan leaders of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate.
Here I want to introduce the “Gang of Five” which I think is largely responsible for the current crisis over Ukraine, that slowly but surely is pushing us towards WW3. Actually, this war has already been going on for over a year — so far thank God without the use of nuclear weapons! — but judging from overheated political rhetoric on both sides of the Atlantic, this escalation to the nuclear level is not excluded.
For the record, I am sure that the actual American group responsible for the current sad state of affairs is much larger than five. Those who want to expand this list are welcome to do it but one has to start somewhere.
Here we go: Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Anthony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Victoria Nuland.
The crisis started with Hillary, who invented the Russiagate story to depict Trump as a Russian stooge and to build Russia’s image as an enemy. This is despite the desire of Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, all Russian leaders who followed him, and the overwhelming majority of the Russian people who wanted to be among America’s friends, many were even dreaming about alliance.
As for Biden, starting with Bill Clinton every U.S. President (except Trump) has contributed one way or another to the current crisis, but it was Joe who had the chance to prevent this war right up to February 23, 2022, by simply agreeing to accept a neutral status for Ukraine. In addition, it is he, as the holder of the Ukraine portfolio under Obama, who coordinated the anti-government coup in Ukraine in February 2014. If not for these two grave blunders, there would be no war, Ukraine would be safe and in one piece as it emerged after the collapse of the USSR. Also no loss of life, no destruction, and no nuclear WW3 on the horizon.
Anthony Blinken was the one who continued Hillary’s disastrous foreign policy of presenting Russia as a villain when in October 2020 he called CIA’s Mike Morell and asked him to concoct the now infamous letter of 51 top U.S. intelligence officials which falsely accused Russia of responsibility for the Hunter’s “laptop from hell” – the operation that helped Biden to enter the White House.
Jake Sullivan took part in coordinating the February 2014 Coup in Ukraine from Washington while Victoria Nuland did it on the ground in Kiev. According to Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, Sullivan also masterminded the Nord Steam gas pipelines explosions. Washington denies this, but taking into account the avalanche of lies coming from Biden and his team, whom would you believe? Well, this is my take, but as mentioned earlier, everyone is welcome to expand the list of “Gang of War” members with some justification of the person’s responsibility.
